There is so much to see and do in Llandudno, our highlights include:

Seafront, Pier and Beach

It's not a proper seaside holiday without a stroll along the pier and Llandudno Pier is one of the very best!! Stretching 2,295 feet (700 m) over the sea, Llandudno Pier is the longest in Wales, and one of the UK’s finest. It was voted "Pier of the Year 2005" by the members of the National Piers Society.

In addition to shops selling a variety of goods, there are 2 amusement arcades, funfair rides, and a variety of cafés, bars and coffee establishments. Ideal for an ice cream or a very tempting cake or two!

The Great Orme

You can't miss it!! The Great Orme is a massive chunk of limestone rising 207m/679ft straight out of the sea, little wonder that its name, given by the Vikings, means ‘sea monster’.

With plenty of walks, cable cars and The Great Orme Tramway there are plenty of ways to see what The Great Orme has to offer! Don't forget to visit the Great Orme Bronze Age Copper Mines, the world’s largest Bronze Age mine, and you can even go skiing on the Llandudno Ski Slope and Snowboard Centre! At the top of The Great Orme is The Summit Complex featuring stunning views of Llandudno, a café, bar and gift shop.

Eating In

Who doesn't love a takeaway! With so many takeaway restaurants in such near proximity to the basement you are spoilt for choice! Within a few minutes are Chinese, Indian, Pizza, Kebab and Fish & Chips takeaway restaurants. Why not sit outside in the garden enjoying the sunny Llandudno weather with your take away, or alternatively have great conversation and meals at our dining table by the bay window in the luxury equipped lounge.

Eating Out

With over 100 restaurants in the nearby vacinity of the basement, you are spoilt for choice! 2 minutes away is the superb Loaf Coffee and Sandwich bar, which is ideal for breakfast or lunch. Also close by are fish & chip shops, and a variety of restaurants to suit any taste. Everything is nearby within a very short walk when you stay at The Basement, Llandudno, North Wales.

Shopping

Llandudno offers a superb blend of shops from the larger chain shops and shopping centres to local shops that you will not find anywhere else! Llandudno is North Wales's premiere shopping destination featuring places such as Parc Llandudno, and the fantastic Mostyn Street, the main high street in Llandudno, and just a very short 3 minute walk from the basement!

Alice in Wonderland

Llandudno has numerous connections to Alice Liddell (the real Alice in Wonderland) who lived in the resort in the 1860's. Alice Liddell was the inspiration for the Lewis Carroll books, when he visited the Liddell family in 1861. In the Alice in Wonderland Town Trails follow the 55 bronze cast Rabbit footprints around the trail and discover a plethora of Alice in Wonderland sculptures dotted around the town.

Snowdonia

Snowdonia is approx. 30 miles away from Llandudno. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and England at 3,560ft, and has plenty of adventure parcs and walks including the world's fastest zip wire at Zip World or ride the perfect wave at Adventure Parc Snowdonia in a 300 metre lagoon! There are literally hundreds of attractions for you in Snowdonia and the basement is perfectly placed to experience all North Wales has to offer.

Venue Cymru

Venue Cymru is a 1500 seat theatre which is approx. 1 mile from the basement, or about a 15 minute walk. Venue Cymru has a diverse programme of events from Opera and West End shows, to pantomime, comedy shows and even wrestling! Museums

The Llandudno Museum is currently closed for major rebuilding and expansion work and is expected to re-open in spring 2020. Llandudno Museum is just a stone's throw away from the basement, so it will be definitely worth a vist when it re-opens later this year. MOSTYN is the largest contemporary art gallery in Wales, housing six galleries which present regularly changing exhibitions by artists and makers from Wales and from around the world, and a shop and café, and just a short 10 minute walk from the basement!

Welsh Mountain Zoo

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is the oldest and most established Zoo in Wales, occupying some 37 acres of lush green landscape overlooking Colwyn Bay and the Carneddau mountains in North Wales it's an ideal place for a day out! Over 140 species are in the Zoo, including big cats, primates, birds, reptiles and even a children's farm.

Bus Tours

Llandudno has some great Hop-On Hop-Off bus tours to make it easy to see some of Llandudno's best attractions. You'll enjoy amazing views of the Great Orme, the Pier and the surrounding countryside! Don't forget to try The Marine Drive Tour, taking you on a magnificent guided tour of the Great Orme via Marine Drive on a luxury vintage coach.

Bodafon Farm Park

Bodafon Farm Park is a genuine working farm where you can wander around the paddocks of rare farm breeds and see the extensive aviaries containing owls and tropical birds from around the world or take a stroll along the farm heritage trail. You can hand feed the goats, deer and llama, enjoy a tractor and trailer ride, pony ride or drive round on a mini tractors, what's not to love! Bodafon Farm Park is only approx. 1.5 miles from the basement!
